Every good wish for a HUGE success with the project. I know that everyone who is positively involved gives their time, their love and their hope for a wonderful future for Turk and his "kids" I will follow their progress and the success of Stephanie's wonderful book with much interest and pride. Hey guys, good website. I found it very informative and easy to navigate. Sharon, Boerne, TX

Thanks for sharing this experience with the rest of the world. We here in America that are "rich and increased with goods" have a hard time comprehending the plight much of the rest of this world's inhabitants are in and how they deal with their reality. We have a hard time relating to those who have never experienced our "luxury" and when we discover in our back yard the conditions and attitudes and even a culture that is so different from our "reality" it can be quite a shock. How we react is a good indication of the depth of our commitment to Christian principles. Sometimes good can come from disaster, although difficult to recognize from such a close-up view. Randy and Stephanie, I know firsthand that you have given this family a lot of your time, and opened your home to them. But most of all you have opened your hearts to them and in return you have gained their trust and unconditional love. I truly believe that this is all a part of God's plan. He is in the driver's seat and you are along for the ride. Whatever happens on this journey, God will get you there safely. He is in control. May God continue to bless both of you and all of the Thorntons. Deb, Osceola, NE

I look forward to opening your web site because there is always a little more there than there was the last time. I really enjoyed the pictures with the profiles. It really helps to put names with pictures and to learn about each person. I enjoy it much.

Hello Stephanie, I am so excited for you that you have written a book. What a wonderful thing you have done for this family. God only works through our hands. He could do a miracle and send food from the sky, but He prefers to use us. I am looking forward to getting the book. God bless you both and all those who helped. Joyce, Michigan (A doll friend)

I would like to say THANK YOU TO ALL THE ANGELS for watching over my father and step brothers and sisters in Texas. STEPHANIE AND RANDY much love goes out to the both of you. You have never had a limit on the amount of interest that you show my family. I remember when my kids and I were in Houston with no blankets to warm us up. You shipped blankets to us. You sent Christmas gifts to my kids, which they were very grateful for. I know first hand the works you have done for my family and NO AMOUNT OF WORDS CAN TRULY EXPRESS OUR GRATEFUL WE REALLY ARE. But I thought it would be nice to let you know how much you are appreciated by me. Lynn, New Orleans (Roosevelt's daughter)

Imagine my surprise and delight receiving a
postcard from you, Stephanie, to tell us about the book you have
written! There is no doubt in my mind that you and Randy have made
wonderful role models for these children and their family, as well as
for all of us! My boys always think of ya'll fondly remembering your
kindness to them. Your hearts have always been big and I'll always
treasure the time we got to be in your lives. The Good Lord knew what He
was doing when he put you on this earth! Congratulations!

I think your book will open so many people's eyes. I am passing it on to my Mom when I am done. Becca, Austin, TX
If you write Steph will you tell her that I am enjoying her book, though enjoy is not the right word. It is enlightening and I am " seeing " it all so much better from reading her book than I ever did watching TV. It makes me so grateful for our little house and yard. So glad she got involved. Just wanted you to know that was the best book I have ever read. The book gave me a new incite to you as a person, who I already held in the highest regard. God has given you great talent, personality and compassion and you use it all so wisely. I did not know Randy that well other than he had a great sense of humor, I am sure the humor side got him through a lot of trying times. My prayer is that each passing day the trials of your task with the Thornton's will become easier and easier. I am so glad Mr. Thornton had enough sense to stay in Texas.
I will be praying for you all daily and hope to see you again sometime soon. Judy, Mississippi

I'm reading the book for the second time - I missed a lot the first time. I had no idea!Bonnye, Texas

You did a great job on it [the book] as well as describing the disaster and plight of "your" family, the Thornton's, and you and Randy. Once I picked the book up - to skim - I couldn't put it down till the last page. . .You outlined lives and government red tape such that I'd never known (thank God). Blessings to both of you! I just finished your book recently and it is the greatest. John is reading it now and I know he appreciates it as much as I. It's such a pleasure knowing you two Angels personally!! Sue, Boerne TX

I liked the short chapters and even though I knew bits n pieces of the story, I kept reading in order to figure out 'what is going to happen next'. I rarely read an entire book in one sitting, but yours kept me interested and I read it straight through!
There are so many connections and points for discussion, that I think this would be a really good book for church book clubs. Diana, Texas

I must say this is such a
blessing to not only witness, as well feel, and praise his name. I am so
hobbled by many of blessing from out this storm. I hope and pray for the
children to receive not only the peace, but as well happiness in little
things as innocent souls should have.

Thank you so much for sending mom the book. It is so wonderful to now there is still people in this world like you. Please tell your adopted family that they are in our hearts. We are telling our clients about your story and they are just as touched as we are. Tell your family I know a little bit of what they are going through. I just thank God for my family. It it wasn't for them, I wish I could have found someone like you. Joy, Gulfport MS

Stephanie, I stayed
up most of last night and finished your book. I am totally
blown away by the power within your story. I'd like to buy 3
more books, and I'd like to help with needs that come up
with the family. Please keep in touch, your words really
touched my heart.

Book looks good, Steph, sending
my check today. After reading the many comments submitted I am even more
anxious to read it. I have always known you were an angel in disguise,
as well as an excellent teacher.

I finally got to read your book
and it was awesome! You have truly been Jesus with
touchable arms, hearts and souls reaching out to this
family. I hope they get to come to Nebraska so we can

Dear Randy and Stephanie,
|

I have read many
books, but it is so different when you know the faces that
go to the names and some of the story before you read it. We
indeed are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ and it was and
is an honor to be an "Angel" right along side you both.

Thank you for continuing your efforts with this family. Your book provided an excellent portrayal of ‘Turk’ and his family, as well as the great effort you and Randy have made to help them. If you don’t mind, please continue updating us on the family. We applaud your kindness, and I know they certainly appreciate all you’ve done for them as well. Take care, and God’s blessings to you always,

February, 2008 I want to express my appreciation and admiration to you and your husband for the extraordinary aid you have given to the Thorntons. Who knows what their lives would have been like if weren’t for your family’s Christian outreach toward them. I wish you all continued blessings, peace and prosperity, and let’s please stay in touch. March, 2008 Dear Ms. Ehmen Last December I bought several copies of your book to send to family members. The enclosed note is from my husband's sister. Her step-son and wife adopted 4 children from the Ukraine. I thought you would find it interesting that your great story of the Thornton family is making it's way around the world. I am enclosing her note. Marge, TX "Dear Marge, I wanted to let you know about the book you sent. When I finished it I passed it along to Arlene, after she read it her younger sister in college, studying for church ministry read it, and now it is on the way to the Ukraine. Arlene and Chris send packages to Olga who was their interpreter, she loves books in English. It will be read next by her." Sally & Keith, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

I’ve been meaning to write you
about your book. Rich did read it all and when he was done he said,
“That Stephanie must be pretty smart. She wrote a damn good book!” I
read it then and found it very interesting—you must have kept a running
journal day-by-day in order to remember everything. My daughter, Cindy,
wanted to read it and it only took her from Wednesday evening to Sunday
morning to read it all. She thinks both you and Randy are the angels
with lots and lots of patience! Anyway, we all thought it was great. |

July, 2008 I recently traveled to a trade show. I searched and searched for your book so that I would have something to read on the plane. I could not find it anywhere. When I returned home, there it was! I started reading and could not stop. Now I know why I was not supposed to take this book with me. I cried all the way through it.
I believe that God has great
plans for these kids! |

July, 2008 I continue to marvel at the growth and happiness the children seem to have because of your family’s love and dedication. I read most of your blog, and truly, they seem far better off for having been brought into your lives. God has blessed you all with a gift I hope more us will embrace – the gift of God’s love. Wishing all of you continued blessings prosperity and peace, in Christ.
